Berlin's Battlefield: We found another German Soldier. Who was he?
Going back with our metal detectors to the Berlin area to search for WW2 relics.
We found another German soldier that has fallen right here in the Berlin area. Like we do everytime we found remains, as soon as we discover remains, we stopped digging and reported it.We did receive some feedback about what was on him and if he could be identified.
Besides that we found loads of interesting WWII relics! Maybe even Hitler's lost gold!
You'll just have to check that out ;-)

Going back with our metal detectors to the Berlin area to search for WW2 relics. We found something we rather not find, bones from the fallen. How we deal with that you'll see in this video. We also found some other great items that made the struggle through the harsh cold circumstances worth while. A Rifle, helmet, medals and more! Even Hitler's lost gold? Maybe, but you'll just have to check ...

This is the last of three video shot in at the Arctic, Finnmark Norway. One of our local guides, Ken, knew a few abandoned WW2 sites where the relics were left behind back in 1945 and have been untouched for all these years. I have been to some amazing former WW2 sites but this was really one of the most bizar places I have ever been. Mountains of WWII relics just laying there on the surface. M...

Heavy fighting took place at the most Northern edge of the German Nazi Third Reich back in April 1945. A forgotten battle overshadowed by the Battle of Berlin which took place at the exact same moment. High up North, where conditions where harsh, the remains of the German army that fought in the Soviet Union were on the run for the Red army. Although the Germans where outnumbered and lacked Arm...

I'd like to see a video metal detecting in Finland! Maybe in Lapland, where we fought the Germans at the end of the war...The most interesting finds of the Finnish wars with the Russians are sadly on Russia's soil, so no going there now...
Those WWI medals were probably on a ribbon bar worn by Volkssturm member killed or surrendered. For the men who survived the conflict from 1914-1918 they thought front line combat was over for them. Belief in one man eventually thrust them into chaos in 1945. That butter knife's condition is astonishing with the silver plate still showing.
The person you’re referring to was never actually elected. I wouldn’t say “belief in one Man” had anything to Do with it.
Europe will forever be stuck with the trauma of the war. How heartbreaking it is that even now we still find the dead lost and forgotten, and bury them.
WWI Iron cross. For sure it is Volkssturm area. Many of the men were aged in their 50's by then. They wore their Iron Cross back into combat for the last time atter that award sat in a drawer at home for over 2 decades without much fanfare. The south of Berlin had thousands of Volkssturm participants go missing in action in the severe fighting in the woods in April 1945. Either killed and buried without documentation or captured and sent east to the gulags. Some say those woods are haunted now for the futile sacrifice.
Excelente trabajo
Hi Chris and Mike l am Avgustin
As a dedicated War zone/ camp site detectorist myself ~ I have a large number of Identity tags found locally over the years and I refuse to trade ~ or sell the tags as I feel this totally disrespectful to the (Australian) diggers of WWII. I always endeavour to trace their history or families and have had some success in doing so ~ It is always a thrill to return relics or individual items to the families ~ I generally agree to return the time to the family on the proviso they share something of their fore bearer and as a result I have had been privilege to some great stories shared of combat and military experiences from humorous to being captive of Vichy French troops in the middle east ~ even later serving as the (BCOF) in the occupation of Japan ~
Very interesting. My great grandpa fell near Wreizen (Wriezen?) in front of Berlin, right next to the Seelow Heights. One of his friends made it home and said he was last seen in an area that got hit heavily rockets and overran. The Red Cross said his remains are likely under a factory (hey got this info from a German prisoner who said he buried lots in that are there).
great video!
Of you are a pro, you should know that it is forbidden to detect in german woods
This is on private property
Boah unglaublich 👍
Have you ever found a Totenkopf ring?
Not yet, but that is on my wishlist
I love the new intro Mike !!
mag je daar zonder vergunning zoeken?
Amazing finds again 👏
Keep our fingers crossed ;)

Thank you so much for making these videos. And thank you for how you treated the find of the fallen soldier. My grandpa was lost in Stalingrad, and was never found. My father never really got to know his father. Was hard for him, not to know what happend to him. Hopefully times like these will never return. Groetjes, Chris
So impressed that you recognice what the items you find are😮 for me, a rusty round gadget would just as easily be from some old scrap that the elderly used and dug up when it was broken. There are an infinite number of things to familiarize yourself with. Should have had someone with experience on the subject with them when looking. Who owns the fields you are digging on?
Regarding the leave pass - it looks like it was laminated or in a plastic sleeve. Were plastics widely used for routine documents during the war?

Hej Mike. I'm watching You from Poland. Great wideo!
Thank you my Polish friend ☺️
Always awful .The brother of my grand farher falled in march 1915 ,in the Vosges mountains with the french chasseurs alpins... In the sectot of HArtsmannwillerkopf, Reichtakerkopf... Called HWK, this mountain is called mangeuse d'hommes, mens eaters. The fights with german were crazy, and the chasseurs alpins were called blue devils by them. The fighrs were so terrible that canadians dogs were imported to bring materials, bring injured people to infermeries ..The températures were often under 20 degrees .. My grandfather made his possible to bring his body back in the pyrenean mountains near spain. He succeeded. One day, he said to my father ... I think that the body in the coffin is perhaps not from our family... 🥴 After all, when he spoke about german prisonners during WWI orWWII, we understood he had no hate with regular guys of this army .
We still have in family 2 German soldiers MIA.
Os resto da guerra do Hitler 😮😮

Wat do you do with all the stuff you find

Very good and informative..I have SUBBED....Good luck to you all
Appreciate it! Thanks for the sub
80 years later you’re the first human hands to touch the rifle parts. I am so glad I found this channel, it’s kinda strange to hear a French accent on a German battlefield. Finding and reporting the remains of the lost is just incredible. I’m watching from Ohio USA 🇺🇸. Soo cool watching from the other side of the world 🌎!
Thanks for dropping by and for your nice comment. i’ve been mistaken for many nationalities but never French! lol I’m actually Dutch but from German decent. So no French blood here. But again thank for watching the video, appreciate you.

It must be a sobering experience when you discover human remains, but it’s good how you treat them with such respect. I’m just wondering about the insignia and badges, especially those of the Waffen SS; a soldier wouldn’t normally be so careless to drop a prized possession. Do you suppose they were maybe discarded deliberately, to avoid identification when capture or surrender became inevitable?
Yes, you're correct. We have heard and read alot about the S+S soldiers discarded their ranks and ID's at the end. Because Soviet forces were ordered to shoot SS on sight but also after the war the Soviet forces removed the ID's from the German dead on purpose to 'punish' the Germans because of what they did. That way the loved ones never got to find out what happened to them.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting Thanks for the info. In terms of humanity that war was a race to the bottom!

I'm really surprised that we never see wives / girlfriends doing this. They generally excell at digging up the past. 😂

Did you had permission to dig there because in Germany you are only allow to dig with a pemission. But the finds that you´ve made are really cool.
Yes this was with written permission of the landowner.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting If you get caught detecting (not only) in these areas by authorities it can become very expensive. (First authorities must allow you detecting there, then the landowner can have the second word.)
